H3467 is our newest anti slip tape addition to our ever expanding non-abrasive family. This anti slip tape product really has taken a significant amount of time and money to develop. It has a plastic film of 1.4mm thick, this is a thick significant amount of virgin plastic. The top emboss is a pimple repeat pattern working in a coordinated layout, this is not common for us, as a company we tend to mainly use irregular patterns, but we wanted something clean and noticeable with its aesthetic appeal. Due to us producing such a thick non-abrasive material it allows us to then create a deep emboss, the pimple pattern not only looks beautiful but is also very effective. The benefits of using H3467 are below;
Thickness
The thick flexible plastic anti slip tape film allows it to be applied with certainly that it is pronounced and will grip substrates nearby.
Adhesive
In 2023 we implemented a new capability to easily and economically increase adhesive levels, some of the products you already purchase may well have received a higher coat of adhesive at no extra cost to you. For H3467 we have put on some of the most powerful self-adhesive coating possible. This paragraph shows the commitment that Heskins has to continual improvement.
UV stable
H3467 is fully UV stable.
Clarity
We wanted not just a clear material but an optically clear product, if you put graphics underneath we want you to be able to all of it as it was intended.
Flexibility
H3467 easily wraps around angles creating a perfect fit.
Softness
We dialled down the softness to give it a natural anti-slip property, even without the emboss pattern.
Why it is so hard to produce
As mentioned, this has been a challenging material to produce but that was our decision to make it. We want a very soft material (technically known as a low shore hardness) but we wanted a sharp, good quality emboss; these two requirements are not good friends. For something to be soft it means that the plastic flows very fluidly when liquid during the calendaring process but to have a sharp emboss requires a plastic that stays in the embossing pattern and does not flow out, the two are opposites. We worked closely with embossing experts and plastic compound consultants to get it just right. Once we got the film just how we liked it we then encountered a major obstacle, plasticiser migration. Plasticisers are chemicals that allow plastics to be flexible, the softer a plastic is then the more plasticisers it possesses, the more plasticiser it has then the less likely it is that any adhesive will bond onto it. The plasticiser problem really created a lot of headaches for us, we solved it, I won’t say how as that is our secret sauce but we did solve it!
We really hope you like H3467 and we look forward to hearing about all the creative applications you find for this unique material!
