Preventing Slips in the Bath and Shower

Preventing slips in the bath and shower is something that can be easily done. Heskins stock a large range of anti-slip products suitable for application in bathtubs and shower trays. Application of anti-slip tape in the bath or shower will help to reduce slip and fall injuries tenfold. Heskins stock a range of abrasive and non-abrasive anti-slip tapes, in a variety of sizes, shapes, lengths and colours. Abrasives are made from coarse minerals, so aren’t suitable for bath and shower application. Non abrasive anti-slip tapes are manufactured by using an embossing technique to create the textured surface, so have a rubber-type feel to their finish, making them perfectly suitable to stand on with bare feet. Heskins original non-abrasive non-slip material, Aqua-Safe, is generally the material of choice. The product is easy to clean, provides good levels of grip and is kind to the skin. The anti-slip surface for baths has an embossed texture that is like a mild wave effect. This ensures effective slip protection in wet or dry conditions, and is very comfortable to stand on, even for long periods of time. The most popular colours are white and clear; although aqua-safe is produced in another three colours ( black, grey and beige ), the two mentioned tend to be most suitable for the majority of appli­cations, as both blend into the surface, creating an incon­spi­cuous non-slip surface.

Most of our bath non-slip materials are supplied into retail outlets, the majority of the end-users will be domestic appli­cations, individual consumers who buy only a small amount of product. To ensure that we are cost-effective, we generally supply the product ‘kiss-cut’ as either disks or strips on either sheets or rolls. The rolls can be readily supplied as either 40mm Ø disks or 20mmx200mm rounded corner strips. Each roll is 50mmx3m and can be supplied with a retail packed sleeve to allow them to be sold as is complete with a barcode.
