Anti-slip stair nosings are one of those things that the general public often tend to walk over without a moments notice…. I know I usually don’t, outside of work anyway. However, the difference they make when it comes to reducing slip and fall accidents on steps is incredible.

Often stair nosings come in two parts. The metal fixture that is applied to the edge of the stairs themselves and the anti-slip inserts. With the main fixture being made of metal, it’s going to take a fair amount of force and more than a lifetimes worth of wear to probably require replacing. It is a fact that the anti-slip inserts, however, will definitely require replacing sooner. Particularly in high traffic areas, as poorly maintained anti-slip inserts can be just as dangerous as having no anti-slip stair nosings.

Safety Grip
Heskins flagship material is available in 3 grades; standard, coarse and extra coarse. Standard would be an efficient abrasive to use on indoor applications and some outdoor applications. Coarse and extra coarse would be better suited for outdoor applications exclusively.
Aqua Safe
Aqua Safe is similar to what you see used as anti slip stair nosing inserts on most common applications. The embossed surface makes for excellent anti-slip protection on various indoor or covered areas.
Resilient
Resilient will perform similarly to Aqua Safe, providing effective slip protection in most general indoor applications. Heskins also produce different variants, with coarse and lean coarse resilient also available. High-quality glow in the dark anti slip tape also employs clear coarse resilient’s anti-slip surface. In low light areas, this would be perfect for application as anti-slip inserts for stair nosings.
Cushion Grip
Cushion grip is rather different from most of Heskins products, but would definitely suit as an anti-slip insert for stair nosings. A foamed anti-slip surface is as effective as any for indoor applications.
