Transparent safety tape is useful for many applications, as unobtrusive slip prevention. Read about transparent safety tape applications here.
A few years ago, transparent anti slip tape was a dream, an aim, that one day, it would be part of our product line. One day, this dream got one step closer to reality, when the MD discovered S2, a form of silica that derives from sand, which is essentially a tiny glass bead. “Eureka” he shouted, as he discovered that these tiny glass beads could make an excellent abrasive surface, and not only that, be virtually transparent. On this day, the R&D began, and a short time later, transparent safety tape was unveiled like Simba in the Lion King. The manufacturing process is essentially the same as the rest of our Safety Grip range, the only differences are that the backing carrier the grit is applied to is clear, and the S2 is completely round, and therefore does not need to run under a static bar like our non-slip tapes made with aluminium oxide. Transparent safety has been created to be as unobtrusive as possible in its application, yet still provide efficient slip prevention.
Areas that can benefit from anti slip application using clear grip tape are:
In the garden, many people spend a lot of time and money making it their sanctuary, and a lot of businesses have ‘man-made’ gardens and nature trails also. If you want to keep it this way, then you can, but some materials in external environments have properties which change with the weather. A perfectly grippy surface in the dry can become extremely slippy when wet, not to mention build ups over time of dirt, moulds, moss and algae, making a once-safe surface in the dry potentially hazardous. Transparent safety tape can be applied to these areas, without detracting the natural aesthetics of the environment. Applying it to all steps and walking surfaces will prevent slip and fall injuries.
Adverts and Sales Displays
Many companies these days take advantage of the use of floor displays, applying large printed decals onto the floor to advertise their wares. Some materials used aren’t always tried and tested in terms of their anti-slip properties, so transparent grip tape can be applied over the surface of the print, to ensure efficient slip protection, but also leaving the display completely visible. A side benefit from applying clear safety over the design is that it will prevent the print from wearing, prolonging the life and increasing the durability of the display, making it a more cost-effective venture in the long run.
Pleasure cruisers usually have a fairly respectable to lavish, and usually custom, deck and cabin design. Some boat owners tie their slip prevention in with the design, but some want it to be as unobtrusive as possible. By creating an anti slip application using transparent safety tape to steps, walkways and cabin tops, basically anywhere that a sure and safe foothold is required, will not only make sailing less treacherous, for those who like to turn their engine off once in a while anyway, but it will make it a much safer sail or cruise also, while not detracting from the aesthetics if you are that way inclined.
Wooden flooring is usually purchased and installed with the aim to be eye-catching, however, once wet, it can become extremely hazardous. An anti slip application of safety tape is sometimes not desirable, due to it being obtrusive. Transparent safety tape can be applied to be very inconspicuous, and not alter the aesthetics of all wooden flooring. Heskins transparent safety tape is perfect for these applications and many more where inconspicuous slip prevention is required. Transparent safety tape is available in widths ranging from 19mm to 1168mm. We stock roll sizes of 25mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm and 150mm in width, and 18.3 metres in length. Dependent on order quantity, we can produce any width roll within our tolerances.
