One notable achievement is that all our products are now free from Bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical of concern due to its potential health and environmental effects. In the United States, our liquid ancillaries have been carefully formulated to be below the statutory Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) levels, aligning with environmental regulations. Compliance with such regulations is not merely a matter of legality but also a testament to our commitment to environmental sustainability.

Looking beyond current regulations, we embarked on a forward-thinking project in 2010. Our goal was to imagine a commercial environment for Heskins where our major plastics could potentially become banned or heavily restricted. To achieve this, we enlisted the expertise of an external chemist, engaged in discussions with our filmic suppliers, and conducted extensive trial work. The result of our efforts is the H3430 range of anti-slip products.

H3430 is a game-changer in the world of anti-slip materials. It is completely free from phthalates, Diisononyl Phthalate (DINP), and Diethylhexyl Phthalate (DEHP), all of which are substances of concern due to their potential environmental and health impacts. Despite this eco-conscious formulation, H3430 offers similar properties to our conventional anti-slip materials. It maintains excellent Coefficient of Friction (CoF) levels, adhesion, and flexibility. While the H3430 range represents a relatively small part of our business, we view the development work we’ve undertaken as an essential foundation for the future.

Our founder’s personal belief is that most flexible plastics used in industry will face heavy restrictions in the coming decade.
